Al mismo tiempo tiernos, sagaces, cínicos, lánguidos y sensuales, los poemas juegan con los temas de los faunos, de lo pastoril, del amor desde un punto de vista completamente pagano pero con un dejo del rococó. Ligeros, juguetones, nos llevan a la fantasía y a la risa. Pese a tocar temas milenarios, en ellos entra una perspectiva moderna que los hace hoy mismo valiosos y emotivos. Daydí-Tolson aquí celebra el bello artificio, lamenta el paso del tiempo, contempla la ineludible muerte. This poetry collection in Spanish, Idilio (Bric-a-Brac Press, 2023), could easily share a shelf with the works of Ovid, Virgil, Bécquer and Darío. At the same time tender, astute, cynical, languid and sensual, the poems play on the themes of fauns, of the pastoral, of love from a completely pagan point of view with a touch of rococo. Light and playful, they take us to fantasy and laughter. While touching on timeless themes, they´re written from a modern perspective that makes them today both valuable and poignant. Here Daydí-Tolson celebrates the beautiful artifice, laments the passing of time, contemplates our unavoidable death. In short, his texts lie decisively, but in doing so they speak of the deepest truths.
